Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Dilzem CD 180 Capsule ER may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Dilzem CD 180 Capsule ER is a calcium channel blocker. It blocks the action of calcium on the heart and blood vessels, thereby widening the blood vessels and allowing more blood and oxygen to reach the heart. This reduces blood pressure and decreases the chances of angina (chest pain).

Dilzem CD 180 Capsule ER may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Dilzem CD 180 Capsule ER is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Dilzem CD 180 Capsule ER may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Dilzem CD 180 Capsule ER is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Dilzem CD 180 Capsule ER is recommended.
However, talk to your doctor if you have any underlying kidney disease. Regular monitoring of kidney function test is advised while you are taking this medicine.
Dilzem CD 180 Capsule ER should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Dilzem CD 180 Capsule ER may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
