Zofacin 200 mg/5ml Syrup is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used in bacterial infections of tonsils, sinus, ear, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues, and lungs (pneumonia).

Zofacin 200 mg/5ml Syrup is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.

Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Zofacin 200 mg/5ml Syrup is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
There may be a possibility of diarrhea or rash in the baby.
Zofacin 200 mg/5ml Syrup does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Zofacin 200 mg/5ml Syrup should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Zofacin 200 mg/5ml Syrup may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
