Fenoxene Capsule may be taken with or without food. However, try to take it at the same time each day to get the most benefit. It is important to continue taking it regularly even if you feel well or if your blood pressure is controlled. Most people with high blood pressure do not feel ill, but if you stop taking this medicine, your condition could get worse.Making some changes in your lifestyle will also help lower your blood pressure. These may include regular exercise, losing weight, smoking cessation, reducing alcohol intake, and reducing the amount of salt in your diet as advised by your doctor. This medicine is tolerated well by most patients but it has few side effects also. Some patients may experience dizziness and sudden lowering of blood pressure on standing. Other side effects include nausea, vomiting, nasal congestion, ejaculation disorder, and increased heart rate. Let your doctor know if these side effects bother you or do not go away.Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have any heart or kidney disease. Pregnant or breastfeeding mothers should also consult their doctor before taking it. Your doctor may check your kidney function, and blood pressure at regular intervals while you are taking this medicine.

Use of Fenoxene Capsule is not recommended in patients with serious kidney disease.

You should take it as long as your doctor has recommended it to you. Do not stop taking it without talking to you doctor first. Long-term use of Fenoxene Capsule is not recommended as cases of developing cancer have been reported. Consult your doctor before starting the treatment.
Fenoxene Capsule should not be given to patients who are allergic to it. Additionally, in patients with a recent history (within the last month) of stroke or heart attack, Fenoxene Capsule should be avoided. Tell your doctor if any of these conditions apply to you.
Fenoxene Capsule belongs to alpha receptor blockers class of medicines. Alpha receptors blockade decreases resistance thereby increasing blood flow to the skin, mucosa (membrane that lines various cavities of the body), and abdominal viscera (membrane lining the abdomen). This results in lowering of blood pressure. This reduced blood pressure and increased release of chemical messenger (noradrenaline) results in reflex tachycardia.
Fenoxene Capsule helps in reducing the increased blood pressure caused by Pheochromocytoma. It is a tumor of the adrenal glands. It causes the release of certain substances (catecholamines) from the adrenal glands into the bloodstream in large quantities, causing high blood pressure. Fenoxene Capsule works by blocking alpha receptors, thereby decreasing blood pressure.
Using Fenoxene Capsule in pheochromocytoma is beneficial due to its long duration of action leading to twice daily dosing. Along with that, it prevents episodic increase of catecholamine releases during pre- and post-operative period which helps in keeping the blood pressure under control during surgical procedures.
Fenoxene Capsule is sometimes effective in treating Raynaud’s phenomenon. This condition results in discoloration of the fingers and/or toes after exposure to changes in temperature (cold or hot) or emotional events. Fenoxene Capsule is also useful in treating frostbite.
Yes, use of Fenoxene Capsule may affect sex life. It may cause inhibition of ejaculation and may make the patient impotent. However, these effects are generally mild and lasts for only a short time. Discuss with your doctor if you experience this.
Taking more than the recommended dose of Fenoxene Capsule may cause significant decrease in blood pressure which may last for several hours, increased heartbeat, and one may even collapse. If you accidentally take an overdose of this medicine, contact your doctor and seek immediate medical help.
It may take several hours to see the effect of Fenoxene Capsule after a single oral dose. These effects may persist for 3-4 days. However, for the intravenous dose, the maximum effect is attained in about 1 hour after the dose.
