Shanvac-B 20mcg Vaccine is a combination of two medicines: Recombinant Hepatitis B Surface Antigen and Thiomersal. Recombinant Hepatitis B Surface Antigen is a vaccine which helps develop immunity by initiating a mild infection. This type of infection does not cause illness but stimulates the body"s immune system to produce antibodies (proteins) to protect against any future infections. Thiomersal is a preservative.

Shanvac-B 20mcg Vaccine is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Shanvac-B 20mcg Vaccine may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
