Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Nitrocontin 2.6 Tablet CR may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Nitrocontin 2.6 Tablet CR is a nitrate. It works by relaxing the blood vessels which decreases the oxygen demand of the heart and reduces its workload. It thus prevents/treats attacks of angina (chest pain).

Nitrocontin 2.6 Tablet CR may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Nitrocontin 2.6 Tablet CR is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Nitrocontin 2.6 Tablet CR is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Nitrocontin 2.6 Tablet CR may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Nitrocontin 2.6 Tablet CR is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Nitrocontin 2.6 Tablet CR may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
There is limited information available on the use of Nitrocontin 2.6 Tablet CR in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
