Calaptin 240 SR Tablet is a calcium channel blocker. It blocks the action of calcium on the heart and blood vessels, thereby widening the blood vessels and allowing more blood and oxygen to reach the heart. This reduces blood pressure and decreases the chances of angina (chest pain).

Calaptin 240 SR Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Calaptin 240 SR Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
Calaptin 240 SR Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Calaptin 240 SR Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Calaptin 240 SR Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Careful monitoring of the patient for any signs of overdosage is advisable.
