Catapres 150 mcg Tablet is used in the treatment of high blood pressure. It can also be used to prevent migraine attacks and hot flushes that may occur in women during the menopause.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Catapres 150 mcg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Catapres 150 mcg Tablet is an alpha-2 agonist. It works by relaxing blood vessels which makes the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body.

Taking Clonidine with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.
Catapres 150 mcg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Catapres 150 mcg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Catapres 150 mcg Tablet may cause blurring of your vision for a short time just after its use. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Catapres 150 mcg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Catapres 150 mcg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure is advisable for dose adjustment.
