Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Jakavi 5 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Jakavi 5 mg Tablet is an anti-cancer medication. It works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps to stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.

Jakavi 5 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Jakavi 5 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Jakavi 5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Jakavi 5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Jakavi 5 mg Tablet is not advised in patients with moderate to severe kidney disease.
