This is a combination of five medicines: Simvastatin, Ramipril, Atenolol, Hydrochlorothiazide, Aspirin which lower blood pressure and prevent heart attack. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication that blocks an enzyme required to make cholesterol. It lowers the ""bad"" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises the ""good"" cholesterol (HDL). Ramipril and atenolol are blood pressure lowering medicines which work by relaxing the blood vessels. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic which lowers blood pressure by removing extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Aspirin is an antiplatelet medicine. It prevents the platelets from sticking together and decreases the formation of harmful blood clots.
