How Metformin+Glimepiride+Atorvastatin works

This is a combination of three medicines: Metformin, glimepiride and atorvastatin. Metformin is a biguanide which decreases the production and absorption of sugar in your body and allows better use of existing insulin. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea which works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Atorvastatin is a lipid-lowering medicine which lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL), triglycerides and raises "good" cholesterol (HDL).

Side Effects

Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level), Nausea, Altered taste, Diarrhoea, Stomach pain, Headache, Weakness, Muscle pain, Increased liver enzymes, Upper respiratory tract infection

Usage

Metformin+Glimepiride+Atorvastatin is used in the treatment of diabetes with increased cholesterol.
