This is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines: Metformin and miglitol. Metformin restores the body's ability to use insulin, reduces glucose absorption from the intestine as well as glucose production in the liver. Miglitol inhibits the intestinal enzymes that cause breakdown of complex sugars into simple sugars such as glucose. This prevents blood glucose from rising very high after meals.
