Alerta D Tablet may be taken with or without food. The dose may vary depending on what you are taking it for. Take it as it has been prescribed by your doctor. You may need this medicine only on days you have symptoms, or you may need to take it every day to prevent symptoms from happening. If you stop taking it earlier than advised, your symptoms may come back. This medicine is generally very safe.You may experience dizziness and sleepiness after taking the medicine. Before taking it, you should tell your doctor if you have any problems with your liver or kidneys or with your heart as antihistamines can cause your heart to beat faster.Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult with their doctor before taking it. Alerta D Tablet works by blocking the release of a naturally occurring substance in our body known as histamine, that is responsible for producing symptoms of allergies such as runny nose, sneezing and red or watery eyes.
If you have missed a dose of Alerta D Tablet, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, take it in the regular schedule instead of taking the missed dose. Do not double the dose to make up for the missed one as this may increase the chances of developing side effects.
Alerta D Tablet is effective if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Alerta D Tablet too early, the symptoms may return or worsen.
