Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Trioptal Oral Suspension may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Trioptal Oral Suspension is an antiepileptic medication. It controls seizures or fits by decreasing the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain.

Trioptal Oral Suspension may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Trioptal Oral Suspension may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Trioptal Oral Suspension is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Baby should be monitored for excessive sleepiness and weight gain.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Trioptal Oral Suspension may make you feel sleepy or dizzy, or may cause blurred vision, lack of muscle coordination, especially when starting treatment or increasing the dose. This may affect your driving ability.
Trioptal Oral Suspension should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Trioptal Oral Suspension may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

Dose adjustment is not recommended in patients with mild to moderate liver disease.
