How to use Provanol SR 40 Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Provanol SR 40 Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Avoid Provanol SR 40 Tablet with high-fat meals such as olive oil, nuts & seeds (Brazil nuts), dark chocolate, butter and meat.

How Medicine Works

Provanol SR 40 Tablet is a beta blocker which lowers blood pressure. It works by slowing heart rate and relaxing blood vessels to improve blood flow to organs.

Taking Propranolol with alcohol may have additive effects in lowering your blood pressure. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate.

Provanol SR 40 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
