Respira D 2mg/10mg Syrup is used in the treatment of dry cough. It is used for the temporary relief of cough due to throat irritation, sneezing, and running nose.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Respira D 2mg/10mg Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.
Respira D 2mg/10mg Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, which relieves dry cough. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which helps reduce cough associated with allergies by blocking the effects of a chemical messenger, histamine. Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide is a cough suppressant which relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain.

Respira D 2mg/10mg Syrup may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Respira D 2mg/10mg Syrup is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Respira D 2mg/10mg Syrup may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive.
Respira D 2mg/10mg Syrup is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Respira D 2mg/10mg Syrup may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
Respira D 2mg/10mg Syrup is probably unsafe to use in patients with liver disease and should be avoided. Please consult your doctor.
