How to use Telma-R 2.5 Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Telma-R 2.5 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

How Medicine Works

Telma-R 2.5 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Telmisartan and ramipril which lower blood pressure effectively. Telmisartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB) and ramipril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor. They work by widening and relaxing the blood vessels, thereby lowering blood pressure.

Taking Telmisartan with alcohol may excessively lower the blood pressure.

Telma-R 2.5 Tablet is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.

Telma-R 2.5 Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.

Telma-R 2.5 Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.

Telma-R 2.5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Telma-R 2.5 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of blood pressure is recommended for dose adjustment.

  • You have been prescribed Telma-R 2.5 Tablet for the treatment of high blood pressure.
  • Lowering high blood pressure helps prevent strokes and heart attacks.
  • It may cause dizziness. Get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
  • It may cause the level of potassium in blood to go up. Avoid taking potassium supplements and potassium-rich foods such as banana and broccoli.
  • It can be harmful to an unborn baby. Do not take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Telma-R 2.5 Tablet.
