Paraxin 250 mg Dragees is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used to treat certain types of serious infections caused by bacteria when other antibiotics cannot be used.

Paraxin 250 mg Dragees is an antibiotic which stops the growth of bacteria. It does so by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. This does not directly kill the bacteria, but prevents them from increasing in numbers, and eventually clears up the infection.

Paraxin 250 mg Dragees may cause symptoms such as flushing, increased heartbeat, nausea, thirst, chest pain and low blood pressure with alcohol (Disulfiram reactions).
Paraxin 250 mg Dragees may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Paraxin 250 mg Dragees is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Paraxin 250 mg Dragees may cause blurring of your vision for a short time just after its use. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Paraxin 250 mg Dragees is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Paraxin 250 mg Dragees may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
There is limited information available on the use of Paraxin 250 mg Dragees in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
