Usage of Neph-M Eye Drop

Description of Neph-M Eye Drop

Neph-M Eye Drop is to be used only in the affected eye. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by the doctor. Read the label carefully for instruction before you use the medicine. Wash your hands before using this medicine. Do not use too much or too little. Use it in the exact dose as prescribed by the doctor or as instructed in the label.Use of this medicine may cause burning sensation, stinging, and irritation at the application site. These are usually temporary and resolve with time. However, if they persist or get worse, inform your doctor. In case of accidental contact with your ears, nose, or mouth, immediately rinse it with water.Inform your doctor if you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients in this medicine or if you are taking any other medication. It is advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery immediately after using this medicine as it may cause temporary blurring of vision and may affect your ability to drive.

How to use Neph-M Eye Drop

This medicine is for external use only. Use it in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Hold the dropper close to the eye without touching it. Gently squeeze the dropper and place the medicine inside the lower eyelid. Wipe off the extra liquid.

How Medicine Works

Neph-M Eye Drop is a combination of four medicines. Naphazoline is a decongestant that works by narrowing the blood vessels in the eye. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricant. It works similar to natural tears and provides temporary relief from burning, also moisten the eyes. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic. It blocks the chemical messenger which causes itching and other allergic symptoms. Boric Acid has antibiotic properties that kill infection-causing microorganisms. It also relieves eye irritation. In this way, it treats allergic eye disease.

Expert Advice

  • Neph-M Eye Drop provides soothing relief from eye irritation due to allergy.
  • It should usually be used twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
  • In case the dropper tip gets contaminated, squeeze out two or three drops straightaway onto some tissue and rinse the tip with saltwater.
  • After applying Neph-M Eye Drop, close your eyes, and place one finger at the corner of your eye. Apply gentle pressure for 1 to 2 minutes before opening your eyes. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
  • Avoid wearing contact lenses until your doctor advises you that it is suitable for you to wear your lenses again.
