How to use Tossex Antitussive Cough Syrup

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Tossex Antitussive Cough Syrup may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food if stomach upset occurs.

How Medicine Works

Tossex Antitussive Cough Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Codeine, which relieves dry cough. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic. It blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which may trigger cough due to allergy. Codeine is a cough suppressant. It suppresses cough by reducing the activity of cough center in the brain.
