Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Smartinor 5 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Smartinor 5 mg Tablet is a synthetic progestin. It works by mimicking the effects of natural progesterone (female hormone). It helps regulate the growth and shedding of the womb lining, thereby treating menstrual irregularities.

Smartinor 5 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Nonhormonal contraceptives are preferred in breastfeeding women, especially during the first 4 weeks postpartum
Smartinor 5 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, drowsy or affect your vision. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
There is limited information available on the use of Smartinor 5 mg Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Smartinor 5 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Smartinor 5 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Smartinor 5 mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. Inform your doctor if you develop signs of jaundice like yellowing of eyes and skin, itching, and clay colored stools.
