Sufrate TP Dusting Powder is a combination of three medicines: Povidone Iodine, Tinidazole and Sucralfate. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic. It slowly releases iodine which kills or prevents the growth of infectious microorganisms. Tinidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Sucralfate is protectant which covers the damaged tissue and protects it against injury to facilitate healing.

Sufrate TP Dusting Powder may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Sufrate TP Dusting Powder is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
