Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Protobid Plus Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Protobid Plus Tablet is a combination of four medicines: methylpolysiloxane, dicyclomine, diloxanide and tinidazole. Methylpolysiloxane is a defoaming medicine which relieves bloating. Dicyclomine is an antispasmodic which works by relaxing the muscles in your stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms). In doing this, it relieves cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort. Diloxanide is combined with tinidazole in case of severe intestinal infections. Tinidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging the DNA.

Protobid Plus Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Protobid Plus Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Protobid Plus Tablet may make you feel drowsy or gives you problems with coordination or sensation (e.g. numbness or weakness). This may affect your driving ability.
Protobid Plus Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Protobid Plus Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Protobid Plus Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Protobid Plus Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
