Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Sylate-M 500 Tablet is to be taken with food.
Sylate-M 500 Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Ethamsylate and Mefenamic Acid. Ethamsylate is an antifibrinolytic. It works by preventing the breakdown of clots and controls excessive bleeding during menstruation (periods). Mefenamic Acid is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling).

Taking Mefenamic acid with alcohol increases the risk of stomach bleeding.
Sylate-M 500 Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

Sylate-M 500 Tablet may make you feel dizzy, drowsy or affect your vision. Do not drive until your vision is clear.
Sylate-M 500 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Sylate-M 500 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Sylate-M 500 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
