Chloromycetin Ear Drop is to be used as per the label instructions or as suggested by your doctor. This medicine must be applied only to the affected ear. Use for as long as the doctor has prescribed. Wash your hands before administering the medicine. Do not use it more than the recommended dose.Generally, this is a safe medicine. However, it may cause mild and temporary irritation in the ear. Consult your doctor if any side effects persist or worry you. If you experience any allergic reaction (rashes, itching, swelling, shortness of breath, etc.), you must seek immediate medical help.The medicines that are used externally usually do not get affected by other medicines, however, you should let your doctor know if you are taking any medicines to ensure safety. Ask your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you have a known allergy to any of the ingredients of this medicine, refrain from using the medicine.

Chloromycetin Ear Drop is a combination of two medicines: Benzocaine and Chloramphenicol. Benzocaine is a local anesthetic. It works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain which decreases sensation of pain. Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic which stops bacterial growth by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.
