Tigboderm Cream is a combination of four medicines: Betamethasone, Gentamicin, Tolnaftate and Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin) which treat skin infections. Betamethasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Gentamicin is an antibiotic which kills bacteria by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Tolnaftate is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin) is an antibiotic with additional antifungal action. It works by preventing the growth and multiplication of the both bacteria and fungi.
