Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Vanlid 500 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Vanlid 500 mg Tablet is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall) which is needed for them to survive.

Vanlid 500 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Vanlid 500 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Vanlid 500 mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Vanlid 500 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Vanlid 500 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Regular monitoring of kidney function test and some blood tests is advised while you are taking this medicine.
There is limited information available on the use of Vanlid 500 mg Tablet in patients with liver disease. Please consult your doctor.
