Trigaine Forte Lotion is a combination of three medicines: Hydrocortisone, Minoxidil and Tretinoin which treat hair loss. Hydrocortisone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the scalp red, swollen and itchy. Minoxidil is a vasodilator, meaning it widens the blood vessels and provides better blood flow to the hair follicles. This prevents hair loss and stimulates re-growth. Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A. It works by promoting the growth of hair follicles and additionally enhances the absorption of Minoxidil from the scalp.

Trigaine Forte Lotion may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Trigaine Forte Lotion is unsafe to use during lactation. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby, or the mother is suffering from a condition in which breastfeeding is not advisable.
