Restasis Ophthalmic Emulsion 0.4ml is an immunosuppressant which increases tear production in chronic dry eye disease. It works by decreasing inflammation (swelling) in the eye to allow for tear production. This keeps the eyes lubricated and reduces discomfort.

Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Restasis Ophthalmic Emulsion 0.4ml is unsafe to use during lactation. Data suggests that the drug may cause toxicity to the baby, or the mother is suffering from a condition in which breastfeeding is not advisable.
It is not known whether Restasis Ophthalmic Emulsion 0.4ml alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
