Description of Tobamist Respules

Tobamist Respules is only meant for inhalation using a nebulizer. The solution should not be injected or swallowed. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This helps to improve your symptoms and resolve the underlying infection. It should be used regularly at evenly spaced time intervals as prescribed by your doctor. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Stopping the medicine too early may lead to the infection returning or worsening.Common side effets of this medicine include increased may cause cough, pharyngitis, change in taste, or voice change as side effects in some patients. These are temporary and usually resolve with time. Regular rinsing of the mouth with warm saline water and the use of lozenges may help you to overcome the side effects. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects persist or if your condition does not improve.Your doctor may advise you periodic blood counts and kidney function tests for monitoring.   • How do you give Tobamist Respules?

    Tobamist Respules is given via a nebulizer for inhalation purpose. Your healthcare provider will teach you the method of taking it. Take it exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Use 2 single containers per day for 28 days. Inhale the contents of 1 container in the morning and one in the evening. After taking it for 28 days, stop for 28 days and then again take the medicine for 28 days. Maintain this 28 days on and 28 days off cycle. Try to keep the 2 doses 12 hours apart. Do not take your dose less than 6 hours apart.

  • Should Tobamist Respules be refrigerated?

    Yes, Tobamist Respules inhalation solution should be refrigerated at 2- 8°C/36-46°F. Upon removal from refrigeration or if refrigerator is unavailable, the solution pouches (opened/unopened) should be stored at room temperature (up to 25°C/77°F) for up to 28 days. It should not be exposed to intense light. Not storing it in the refrigerator may darken the medicine. However, color change does not indicate change in quality.

  • Is Tobamist Respules bad for kidneys?

    Yes, Tobamist Respules belongs to aminoglycoside class of antibiotic medicine, which may affect the kidney function. However, there is no firm evidence to suggest so. If your kidney function is already impaired, then you should be careful while using Tobamist Respules. Your doctor will get your kidney function tested before starting Tobamist Respules and at regular intervals during treatment. Tell your doctor if you experience decreased urination, unusual tiredness or weakness or swelling of the face, arms, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs.

    The doctor will decide the duration of treatment which will depend on the severity of infection. For instance, if you have mild to moderate eye infection, your doctor will advise 1-2 eye drops, 4 times a day, usually. In severe infections, you may be prescribed 2 drops every hour. Do not use more or less of it or use it more often than prescribed by your doctor. You should use it exactly as prescribed by your doctor.

  • How should Tobamist Respules be used?

    You should wash your hands before using the eye drops. Avoid touching the dropper tip against your eye or anywhere else. Tilt your head slightly and instill one drop. Close your eyes for 2 or 3 minutes with your head tipped down, avoid blinking or squinting. Gently press your finger to the inside corner of the eye for about 1 minute, to keep the liquid from draining into your tear duct. If you use more than one drop, wait about 5 minutes between the drops. Wait at least 10 minutes before using any other eye drops your doctor has prescribed.
