Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ritex 2 mg/2 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Take it with food, if it causes stomach upset.
Ritex 2 mg/2 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Risperidone and Trihexyphenidyl. Risperidone is an atypical antipsychotic which works by balancing the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts, and behavior. Trihexyphenidyl is an anticholinergic which works on the nervous system and corrects some of the chemical imbalances that cause Parkinson"s disease and certain side effects occurring during antipsychotic treatment.

Ritex 2 mg/2 mg Tablet may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Ritex 2 mg/2 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Ritex 2 mg/2 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Ritex 2 mg/2 mg Tablet can cause blurring of vision, dizziness, mild nausea, and mental confusion in some cases. This may affect your ability to drive.
Ritex 2 mg/2 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ritex 2 mg/2 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
