Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Ranipride 10 mg/150 mg Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.
Take it preferably 30 minutes before food.
Ranipride 10 mg/150 mg Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Domperidone and Ranitidine, which relieves symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also acts on the upper digestive tract to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. Ranitidine is an H2 blocker (antacid). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps relieve acid-related indigestion and heartburn.
Related Warnings
Alcohol use can increase acid secretion, acid reflux in food pipe causing heartburn and decreasing effect of this drug. Ranipride 10 mg/150 mg Tablet can also decrease alcohol breakdown and increase its level in blood.
Ranipride 10 mg/150 mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Ranipride 10 mg/150 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Ranipride 10 mg/150 mg Tablet may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Ranipride 10 mg/150 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Ranipride 10 mg/150 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
