Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER is to be taken with food.
Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER is a combination of three medicines: Chlorthalidone, Metoprolol Succinate and Telmisartan which lower blood pressure effectively. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic which removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body through urine. Over time, it also works by relaxing blood vessels and improving blood flow. Metoprolol Succinate is a beta blocker that works specifically on the heart to slow down the heart rate, while Telmisartan is a calcium channel blocker which works by blocking the hormone angiotensin to further relax blood vessels.

Taking Telmisartan with alcohol may excessively lower the blood pressure.
Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER is unsafe to use during pregnancy.
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk, but the benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk, for example in life-threatening situations. Please consult your doctor.
Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER is not recommended in these patients.
Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Met XL 3D 25/6.25 Tablet ER is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
