Orthofort Tablet may be taken with or without food. It should be used in the dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. It is advised to take this medicine at a fixed time.Common side effects of this medicine include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, heartburn, indigestion, and urine discoloration. These side effects are well tolerated. However, if they worsen with time, please consult your doctor.Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have any other health conditions. Orthofort Tablet is a combination of four medicines: Diacerein, Glucosamine Sulfate Potassium Chloride, Methyl Sulfonyl Methane and Methylcobalamin which relieve osteoarthritis symptoms. Diacerein and Glucosamine Sulfate Potassium Chloride are proteoglycan synthesis stimulators whereas Methyl Sulfonyl Methane (MSM) is a nutritional supplement. Together they help in building cartilage (soft tissue that cushions the joints) leading to joint repair. They also lower inflammation (swelling) of the joints. Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B which has pain relieving action.
