Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Femilon Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Femilon Tablet is a combined oral contraceptive pill. It works by preventing the release of egg (ovulation) and affecting sperm movement in the womb to prevent its union with the egg. It also changes the lining of the womb and renders it unsuitable for pregnancy.

Takind Desogestrel with alcohol may cause minor drug interactions which may not be clinically relevant in all patients.
Femilon Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Human and animal studies have shown significant adverse effects on the foetus. Please consult your doctor.
Femilon Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Nonhormonal and progestin-only contraceptives are preferred in breastfeeding women, especially during the first 4 weeks postpartum
Femilon Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
There is limited information available on the use of Femilon Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Femilon Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Femilon Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Femilon Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
