Sandostatin 0.1 mg Injection is used in the treatment of acromegaly, carcinoid tumours and bleeding esophageal varices. It is also used to prevent complications following surgery of the pancreas.

Sandostatin 0.1 mg Injection is a similar to somatostatin, a substance normally found in the human body which inhibits the effects of certain hormones such as growth hormone. It also lowers the bleeding from the food pipe by constricting (narrowing) the blood vessels.

Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Sandostatin 0.1 mg Injection is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Sandostatin 0.1 mg Injection does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Sandostatin 0.1 mg Injection is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Sandostatin 0.1 mg Injection is recommended.
Sandostatin 0.1 mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Sandostatin 0.1 mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
