Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Tamsumo 0.4 mg Tablet is to be taken with food.
Take Tamsulosin 30-60 minutes after the same meal each day.
Tamsumo 0.4 mg Tablet is an alpha blocker. It works by relaxing the muscles around the bladder exit and prostate gland so urine is passed more easily. This helps empty the bladder completely and reduces the need to pass urine frequently or urgently in BPH.

Taking tamsulosin with alcohol may lower your blood pressure. This can cause dizziness or feeling like you might pass out, especially when getting up from a sitting or lying position.
Tamsumo 0.4 mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Tamsumo 0.4 mg Tablet is probably unsafe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggest that the drug could represent a significant risk to the baby.
Tamsumo 0.4 mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Tamsumo 0.4 mg Tablet is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Tamsumo 0.4 mg Tablet is recommended.
However, limited information is available on the use of Tamsumo 0.4 mg Tablet in patients with end stage kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Tamsumo 0.4 mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Tamsumo 0.4 mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
