Cerazette Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. Swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. If you missed your dose and you are late by 12 hours in taking the missed dose, in that case, you must use a condom while intercourse for a period of 2 days.The most common side effects of this medicine include headache, nausea, vomiting, weight gain, and acne. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Usually, it makes your menstrual cycle irregular, consult with your doctor if this occurs frequently.Before taking this medicine, let your doctor know if you have ever had diabetes, unexplained vaginal bleeding, and have high blood pressure. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Generally, if you experience vomiting within 2 hours of dose intake, take another dose as soon as you feel better.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Cerazette Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Cerazette Tablet is a progestin (female hormone). It works by preventing the release of an egg from the ovary or preventing the fertilization of the egg by sperm. It may also work by changing the lining of the uterus (womb) and increasing the thickness of cervical mucus to prevent pregnancy.

Cerazette Tablet is highly unsafe to use during pregnancy. Seek your doctor's advice as studies on pregnant women and animals have shown significant harmful effects to the developing baby.
Cerazette Tablet is probably unsafe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug may pass into the breastmilk and harm the baby.
Cerazette Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
There is limited information available on the use of Cerazette Tablet in patients with kidney disease. Please consult your doctor.
Cerazette Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Cerazette Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Cerazette Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.
Cerazette Tablet is “progesterone only” oral contraceptive pill. Progesterone only pills contain the hormone progesterone, but don't contain estrogen. Cerazette Tablet contains Desogestrel, which is used to prevent pregnancy.
Take this medicine as per your doctor's advice. Take your tablet at about the same time everyday, to ensure consistent levels of medicine in your body.
When you finish a pack, start the next pack straight away without having a break. You may have lighter, normal or no periods while taking Cerazette Tablet. Continue taking Cerazette Tablet without waiting for your next period.
Cerazette Tablet is more than 99% effective when taken correctly. This means fewer than 1 woman in 100 who uses the progestogen-only pill as contraception will get pregnant in 1 year. However, missing pills, vomiting, and diarrhoea can make it less effective.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember and continue the usual dosing schedule. However, if the dose was missed by more than 12 hours, you may not be totally protected against pregnancy. Use a non-hormonal method of contraception such as condoms, at least for the next 7 days, to prevent pregnancy. Frequent missing of doses may lead to unexpected vaginal bleeding or spotting (blood stain). Consult your doctor, if this persists.
If you vomit within 3-4 hours of taking Cerazette Tablet tablet, then it is considered as a missed dose. So, you should take another dose.
You may experience irregular vaginal bleeding while taking Cerazette Tablet. Other common side effects include headache, nausea (feeling sick), acne, depression (sad mood), and breast pain. Most of them are temporary, if these persist consult with your doctor.
The progesterone only pill can also be used by those women who are lactating. With progesterone-only pills, you would stay away from the side effects of estrogen, which are usually associated with combined oral contraceptive pills.
