Methylergometrine 0.125 mg Tablet is used in the treatment of post-delivery bleeding. It may also be used to control bleeding after an abortion.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Methylergometrine 0.125 mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Methylergometrine 0.125 mg Tablet is an ergot alkaloid. It works by causing sustained contractions of the smooth muscles of the uterus. This results in compression of the blood vessels which controls bleeding after delivery.

Methylergometrine 0.125 mg Tablet should be used with caution during lactation. Breast feeding should be held until the treatment of the mother is completed and the drug is eliminated from her body.
It is not known whether Methylergometrine 0.125 mg Tablet alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
