Hospimycin 500 mg Injection is used in the treatment of bacterial infections. It is used in infections of tonsils, sinus, ear, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues and lungs (pneumonia).

Hospimycin 500 mg Injection is an antibiotic. It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading.

Hospimycin 500 mg Injection may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Hospimycin 500 mg Injection is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
There may be a possibility of diarrhea or rash in the baby.
Hospimycin 500 mg Injection may make you feel dizzy, sleepy, tired, or decrease alertness. If this happens, do not drive.
Hospimycin 500 mg Injection should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Hospimycin 500 mg Injection may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Hospimycin 500 mg Injection is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Hospimycin 500 mg Injection may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
