Avoid Somavent PD 50mg/1.25mg Liquid with caffeine and chocolate as well as food containing caffeine and chocolate such as tea leaves, cocoa beans.
Somavent PD 50mg/1.25mg Liquid is a combination of two medicines: Etofylline and terbutaline. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens the airways. This makes breathing easier.

Somavent PD 50mg/1.25mg Liquid may cause excessive drowsiness and calmness with alcohol.
Somavent PD 50mg/1.25mg Liquid may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Somavent PD 50mg/1.25mg Liquid is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
It is not known whether Somavent PD 50mg/1.25mg Liquid alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.
Somavent PD 50mg/1.25mg Liquid should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Somavent PD 50mg/1.25mg Liquid may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
