Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Omepraz 20 mg Capsule may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Omepraz 20 mg Capsule is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which helps in relief of acid related indigestion and heartburn.

Omepraz 20 mg Capsule may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Omepraz 20 mg Capsule is probably safe to use during lactation. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent a significant risk to the baby.
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
Omepraz 20 mg Capsule may cause dizziness and visual disturbances. This may affect your driving ability.
Omepraz 20 mg Capsule is safe to use in patients with kidney disease. No dose adjustment of Omepraz 20 mg Capsule is recommended.
Omepraz 20 mg Capsule should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Dose adjustment of Omepraz 20 mg Capsule may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
A lower dose may be advised in patients with liver disease and who have to take this medicine for a long time.
